Picture kids swinging on a rope…regaining their independence… laughing
again!
Flying Horse Farms will provide a safe, fun, and supportive
camp experience with a custom-designed facility and 24-hour
medical supervision. The facility will accommodate 120 campers
and up to 120 staff members per session. There will be 8
to 10 weeklong summer sessions, reaching up to 1,200 children
and families each summer.
Throughout the rest of the year, Flying Horse Farms will
be busy hosting winter sessions, family camps, and a variety
of retreat programs. We have the ability to serve over 2,500
children and families every year.
Through a full range of traditional camp activities, Flying
Horse Farms programs will be designed to help children overcome
the physical, developmental, emotional, and social barriers
posed by their illness. At camp, we will focus on developing
self-esteem, self-confidence, and independence. We will offer
opportunities for campers to do things others, including
their families and peers, never thought were possible.
Program activities will include:
- Archery
- Arts & Crafts
- Boating
- Campfires
- Camping
- Cooking
- Farm Introduction
|
- Fishing
- Horseback Riding
- Music & Drama
- Nature Investigation
- Ropes Course
- Sports & Games

|
All activities are designed to give campers a sense of pride,
accomplishment, and freedom. Flying Horse Farms will be run
by camping professionals, and staffed by full-time and volunteer
counselors, nurses, physicians, and other support staff. |
